Invitation from Haley Ballast (John Knox PC), The Church Council of Greater Seattle, Organizing Intern:
You're invited to attend the 2nd quarterly Anti-Racism Networking Gathering for faith leaders in the Greater Seattle area, on Saturday, April 14, 9:30AM – 12:00PM at Columbia City Church of Hope (3818 S Angeline St, Seattle, WA 98118), sponsored by the Church Council of Greater Seattle.
As with our initial gathering in December, the goal for this gathering is to connect faith leaders across denominational lines in order to strengthen our collective resolve in working to dismantle structural racism and white supremacy. The Church Council is committed to walking with congregations who wish to make racial justice a way of life. Our time together will provide an opportunity to share ideas and resources, offer support and encouragement, and foster collaborative relationships among the anti-racist faith community in Seattle.
I was deeply encouraged by our first gathering, and I look forward to building on the relationships, growth, and conversations which we were able to begin together, while also welcoming new voices and congregations into the process.
This gathering is open to clergy and laypersons who want to pursue anti-racism work with their faith community. If you have any questions, I would be happy to talk with you by phone or in person. Please email hballast@thechurchcouncil.org to RSVP. Childcare may be available upon request.
