An update and invitation from Rev. Mansour Khajehpour:
A few years ago under the leadership of UBS and a few partners such as American Bible Society a Board made of multi-agency and multi-denomination collaboration was formed to establish the Iranian Bible Society in Diaspora. Nahid Sepehri was called to be its Executive Director. Ever since 2001, I have always had the joy of serving IBSD as one of its many volunteers.
IBSD’s Board includes ordained and lay leaders from across denominations and from around the world. Each one of them is a distinguished servant of the Lord. Some of them have published numerous books, some lead churches or other Christian organizations such as satellite Christian TVs, and some are faithful businessmen whose heart is to share the Message with Persian speaking people worldwide. The Board of IBSD meets twice a year and in different cities where Board members reside. On this coming November (9-11) IBSD Board meets in Seattle.
After many years of Bible distribution through the internal resources of UBS, this year IBSD’s Board approved to expand its distribution efforts to a much higher level. This is mainly done as a response to the growing need for more Bibles and New Testaments by the fastest growing house-church movement in the world, namely Iran. To this end on Saturday, November 11, 2017 (6:00 – 7:30 PM) IBSD is hosting a fundraising banquet at University Presbyterian Church. Our well-known and good friend, Rev. Earl Palmer is our keynote speaker for this event with a few reports and updates from Board members of IBSD. We would like to share this news with Seattle Presbytery and prayerfully hope to have a strong presence of our very own Presbyterian leaders.
